Project Summary
The Colors of Roses Foundation Water Project is a humanitarian and community development initiative designed to improve access to safe, reliable, and sustainable drinking water for underserved communities in Cameroon. The project is being implemented by the Colors of Roses Foundation, Inc., in partnership with Awo and Sons Engineering and Shipping Company, bringing together the Foundation’s commitment to community health and humanitarian development with the technical expertise required to develop sustainable water infrastructure.
Access to clean water remains essential to public health, education, economic development, and the overall well-being of families. In many underserved and rural communities, residents continue to experience challenges accessing dependable sources of potable water. Women and children are often disproportionately affected, spending considerable time obtaining water for drinking, cooking, sanitation, and other household needs. Limited access to safe water can also increase the risk of waterborne diseases and place additional pressure on healthcare facilities and families.
The Water Project seeks to address these challenges through the development and installation of sustainable community water systems. Working with Awo and Sons Engineering Company, the project will include appropriate technical assessments to determine water needs, suitable locations, and the most effective engineering solutions for each beneficiary community. Depending on local conditions and technical findings, project activities may include borehole drilling, water storage systems, pumping infrastructure, distribution points, solar-powered pumping solutions, and other necessary components to provide communities with dependable access to potable water.
The partnership will emphasize quality, sustainability, community ownership, and long-term maintenance. Awo and Sons Engineering will provide technical and engineering support, including site assessment, system design, installation, testing, and commissioning. Colors of Roses Foundation will lead project mobilization, fundraising, donor engagement, community partnerships, coordination with local stakeholders, and monitoring of the humanitarian and public-health impact of the project.
The initiative is closely aligned with the Foundation’s broader mission of improving health outcomes and strengthening vulnerable communities. Clean water is directly connected to maternal and child health, disease prevention, nutrition, sanitation, school attendance, and community productivity. By improving access to safe water, the project will complement the Foundation’s ongoing healthcare, medical donation, maternal and child health, and community development programs in Cameroon.
Project Objectives
The Colors of Roses Foundation and Awo and Sons Engineering and Shipping Company envision this project as more than the construction of water infrastructure. It is an investment in health, dignity, opportunity, and sustainable community development. Through strategic partnerships and donor support, the initiative seeks to provide lasting water solutions that will improve the quality of life for thousands of people and create healthier, stronger, and more resilient communities across Cameroon.
