Ethel Etongwe

Ethel Etongwe is a young professional with expertise in socio-economic growth and development. She holds a diploma in Project Management from the Pan African Institute for Development- West Africa.

For the past 3 years, she has engaged in rural community development projects serving over 500 beneficiaries including orphaned and underprivileged children in the South West Region of Cameroon. Actively, she mentors youths in academic and career development programs.

One area that she identified as a serious issue in the community is the lack of civic leadership incubator pathway programs to prepare orphaned and vulnerable children to obtain career opportunities in the government. In an effort to engage the government to establish civic leadership incubator pathway programmes specifically for orphans, Ethel continues to work in partnerships with local orphanages to raise awareness on orphan crisis and advocate at the government and civic levels. To accomplish this mission, she plan to adapt internationally proven platforms and systems to conduct a pilot projects that will create career internships for children in orphanages to gain vocational career experiences. The pilot project will measure human capital as a target investment through education and training. The findings for this project will serve as preliminary evidence to advocate for the establishment of program in favor of underserve communities across Cameroon.
